Philosophical Sciences-Enrolled from 2021/2022
The Master's degree programme in Philosophical Sciences provides graduates with an in-depth knowledge of the contents and methods of philosophical investigation, while promoting specialist training in various research fields.
Without prejudice to the need for a broad and general philosophical training, two reasons call for specialization in the area of philosophical studies during the Master's programme.
Firstly, specialist training allows graduates to become aware of the specificity and complexity of problems, both theoretical and practical, as required of a professional nowadays.
Secondly, over the last decades the areas of philosophical research have become increasingly rich and diverse. Not only do they provide specific content and reasoning tools aimed at developing critical ability, they also deepen relationships with various fields of study including: psychology, linguistics, information technology, art, history, sociology, political science, anthropology, pedagogy, biology, physics, mathematics.
In addition to reflecting on itself and its methods, philosophy offers tools to question and deepen the conceptual foundations of any discipline: it reconstructs the history of theoretical notions, provides new analysis tools, questions the ethical and political implications of actions and behaviours, and it can only do so through well-defined and differentiated paths. Hence the need to structure the programme as several curricula offering diverse study paths, with a view to specialisation in philosophical research as well as to pre-professional education.
Therefore, students enrolled in the Master's degree programme in Philosophical Sciences are called to identify a research field among those proposed, to deepen their philosophical training with a rigorous and specialist approach.
For this purpose, the degree programme requires graduates to follow orientation courses in Year I, and specialist courses in their chosen field in Year II, while exploring the multiple interactions with related and complementary disciplines. The knowledge, skills and competences gained allow students to write and discuss their thesis at a specialist level.
The main areas in which the degree programme is structured focus on: the historical dimension of philosophical thought; the theoretical, moral and aesthetic foundations of contemporaneity; the study of society in its anthropological, sociological, political, ethical and philosophical dimensions; logic, language and the theory of mind, also in relation to the developments of contemporary scientific research.

- teach philosophy, history, pedagogy and demo-anthropological disciplines in high schools and other secondary schools;
- fill in management and coordination roles in the public administration;
- work in HR recruiting and development, communication, intercompany relations, and cultural programmes in public and private organisations;
- work as editorial director, or manuscript editor;
- work as cultural event manager, or copywriter;
- work in corporate and work-life balance counselling;
- work in promoting cooperation in the workplace or otherwise in multi-cultural societies.

Requisiti e modalità d'ammissione:
Possono accedere al corso di laurea magistrale in Scienze filosofiche le studentesse e gli studenti in possesso dei seguenti requisiti:
1. laurea triennale nella classe L-5 Filosofia, conseguita presso l'Università degli Studi di Milano o in altro ateneo italiano, oppure di laurea in altra classe. In entrambi i casi è necessario che le studentesse e gli studenti abbiano ottenuto i crediti sotto indicati:
a. almeno 60 CFU in uno o più dei seguenti settori scientifico-disciplinari filosofici: M-FIL/01, M-FIL/02, M-FIL/03, M- FIL/04, M-FIL/05, M-FIL/06, M-FIL/07, M-FIL/08, SPS/01, IUS/20, M/STO-05;
b. tra i 60 CFU indicati al punto (a), almeno 18 devono essere stati acquisiti in uno o più dei seguenti settori scientifico- disciplinari storico-filosofici: M-FIL/06, M-FIL/07, M-FIL/08;
c. è consentito sostituire fino a 18 dei 60 CFU indicati al punto (a) con altrettanti CFU acquisiti in altri settori scientifico-disciplinari purché compresi nelle seguenti aree: 01 matematiche e informatiche, 02 scienze fisiche, 05 Scienze biologiche, 10 Scienze dell'antichità, filologico-letterarie e storico-artistiche, 11 Scienze storiche, filosofiche, pedagogiche e psicologiche, 12 Scienze giuridiche, 13 Scienze economiche e statistiche, 14 Scienze politiche e sociali.
d. nel caso di candidati con titoli di laurea conseguiti all'estero, per valutare in modo appropriato la congruenza del percorso didattico sulla base dei criteri a-c, una commissione di docenti deciderà dell'opportunità di ammettere il candidato valutando le conoscenze e le competenze filosofiche acquisite nel suo precedente percorso di studi, eventualmente sulla base di un colloquio, anche in forma telematica.
2. conoscenza della lingua inglese pari o superiore a livello B1 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le lingue (QCER). I candidati all'ammissione (a meno che non siano di madre-lingua inglese) dovranno dimostrare di aver acquisito competenze e abilità nella lingua inglese con le modalità più avanti specificate.
Il livello B1 è verificato dal Centro Linguistico d'Ateneo SLAM durante la fase di ammissione nei seguenti modi:
- certificazione linguistica conseguita non oltre i 3 anni, di livello B1 o superiore (per la lista delle certificazioni linguistiche riconosciute dall'Ateneo si rimanda al sito: https://www.unimi.it/it/studiare/competenze-linguistiche/placement-test…). La certificazione deve essere caricata durante la procedura di ammissione;
- livello di inglese conseguito durante un corso di laurea triennale attraverso il percorso SLAM. Sono ritenuti validi gli accertamenti conseguiti da meno di quattro anni. La verifica avviene d'ufficio senza alcuna necessità di allegare attestati;
- test di ingresso, erogato da SLAM. Tutti coloro che non inviano una certificazione valida né risultino con livello valido sono convocati al test tramite la procedura di ammissione. In caso di non sostenimento o non superamento del test di ingresso, il candidato ha tempo fino al 31 dicembre 2021 per conseguire e inviare a SLAM una certificazione tra quelle riconosciute.
In caso di non soddisfazione del requisito entro il 31 dicembre 2021, lo studente non è ammesso al corso di laurea magistrale e non può accedere ad ulteriori test.

Modalità di verifica delle conoscenze
Il Corso di laurea magistrale in Scienze filosofiche è ad accesso libero, previa verifica dei suindicati requisiti curriculari.
La preparazione personale dei candidati si intende verificata per gli studenti che hanno conseguito una votazione finale uguale o superiore a 95.
Per i candidati che hanno conseguito alla laurea una votazione finale inferiore alla soglia di 95 la verifica dell'adeguatezza della personale preparazione viene effettuata tramite colloquio individuale, anche in forma telematica.
I candidati laureati nella classe L-5 presso l'Università degli Studi di Milano, che hanno conseguito la votazione finale di almeno 95, essendo in possesso dei requisiti curriculari, accedono direttamente al corso di laurea magistrale.
Al momento della presentazione della domanda di iscrizione al Corso di Laurea magistrale i candidati devono dichiarare quale curriculum scelgono.
Per poter essere ammessi all'a.a. 2021-22 i candidati dovranno essere in possesso di tutti i requisiti d'ammissione (laurea, eventuali esami singoli, conoscenza della lingua inglese) entro il 31 dicembre 2021.
La domanda di ammissione al corso di laurea magistrale è da presentarsi entro e non oltre il 27 agosto 2021.
Le immatricolazioni saranno aperte dal 15 luglio 2021 al 30 settembre 2021, mentre coloro che conseguiranno il titolo entro il 31 dicembre 2021 dovranno immatricolarsi entro il 15 gennaio 2022.
I laureandi di altri corsi di laurea possono presentare domanda di ammissione al corso di laurea in Scienze filosofiche soltanto dopo aver acquisito un numero minimo di 126 crediti formativi.
Possono accedere al corso di laurea magistrale in Scienze filosofiche le studentesse e gli studenti in possesso dei seguenti requisiti:
1. laurea triennale nella classe L-5 Filosofia, conseguita presso l'Università degli Studi di Milano o in altro ateneo italiano, oppure di laurea in altra classe. In entrambi i casi è necessario che le studentesse e gli studenti abbiano ottenuto i crediti sotto indicati:

The Master's Degree Programme in Philosophical Sciences has had Erasmus-exchange partnerships with other European universities for over ten years. The programme keeps students up-to-date on these, encouraging them to take advantage of the opportunities these exchanges offer. In recent years, the Erasmus scholarship programme is posted to the University's website, and is presented to philosophical science students through a special meeting organised by the Department's Erasmus manager, where students are given an introduction to the various campuses, and different options for specialising in philosophy. Given the vast number of campus options, all philosophical areas are covered through the various available campuses: history of philosophy, theoretical philosophy, moral philosophy, aesthetics, philosophy of language, logic, and philosophy of science. The various locations also offer the opportunity for students to take exams in subjects other than philosophy.
Candidates are selected by a commission made up of Department teachers, who assess the student's interests, their academic career, and their proficiency in the language of the country where they hope to study.
Admitted students will fill out the Learning Agreement with the Erasmus manager. Once abroad, they will correspond via email with the manager regarding any changes. Students submitting a Learning Agreement to the Erasmus manager via email will receive it back e-signed. They may then have their host university countersign the document prior to their return home.
Upon returning home, any exams the student has taken whilst abroad (documented in the "Transcript of Records") are converted into Italian exams based on the Learning Agreement; exam conversion and the marks for the same shall be subject to approval of the Academic Board for Philosophy.
